As gateways to knowledge and culture, libraries play a fundamental role in society. Library of Kashi Advaita Ashrama begin with a collection initially confined to a few books and journals, stacked in one or two book-cases in a room adjacent to Durga Mandap. With the passage of time it grew up with vast collections of books on Sanatan shastras and a rare manuscript collection which contains many ancient texts. Our library has a huge collection of rare books which are mostly out of print. At present there are 24427 number of books and 7 journals/periodicals in Sanskrit, Hindi, English and Bengali languages. Most of the rare volumes and manuscripts have been recently digitized which is the result of the foresightedness and transparency of the present Adhayaksha Maharaj. Manuscripts and rare sanskrit books are cataloged in a separate room. Many new titles have been added recently. There's a small space for study adjacent to the library. Our library has a unique collection of uncommon books which are primarily useful for the scholars pursuing research in the field of sanskrit, literature, dharma-shastras, vedic-darshan, indology and Ramakrishna-Vivekananda literature. Anyone can become a member of the library by filling the form and paying a token fee of Rs 120 per annum.
